JNAIJA and GiGBeing Inc. (Tokyo, Japan) are proud to announce our official Co-Partnership with Southeast Blockchain & Games Week, scheduled to take place from September 16 to September 19, 2026 across Southeast Nigeria.

Southeast Blockchain & Games Week is one of the most prominent regional technology events in Nigeria, connecting builders, game designers, web3 developers, esports gamers, and tech startups. With bounties, tournaments, and hackathons, the week provides a powerhouse stage for young African digital talent.

Through this Co-Partnership, JNAIJA and GiGBeing will introduce the Nigeria–Japan Game Creator Contest 2026 directly to participating creators across all regional hubs. Representatives will provide on-the-ground support and guidance for developers submitting playable prototypes, game design documents, storylines, character art, and soundtracks.

This partnership directly advances our mission to expand beyond our pioneer hub in Imo State, uniting game developers across the Southeast and all of Nigeria with international mentors and development pipelines in Japan.

The Nigeria–Japan Game Creator Contest is entering an exciting new phase.

Following growing interest and positive response from young creators, the organisers have announced an extension of the application period, giving more talented Nigerians the opportunity to participate and showcase their ideas.

Originally scheduled to close at the end of August 2026, with results announced at the end of September, the contest will now follow this new schedule:

The extension represents more than additional time for applications. It marks an important step in expanding the initiative beyond its starting point in Imo State, with plans to reach young creators in Lagos and across all states of Nigeria.

The initiative is being advanced through the collaboration and support of the Imo State Ministry of Youth Development and Talent Hunt, the Bureau for Illicit Drugs Monitoring and Narcotics, Ebelebe Trading and Investment Company Ltd., and Japanese entertainment and game company GigBeing Inc., Tokyo.

The Nigeria–Japan Game Creator Contest is more than a competition.
