Imo State × Japan Game Creator Incubation Program

About the Program

To discover and nurture next-generation game creators in Nigeria, we are hosting this game contest. We are calling for original game works from Nigeria that have the potential to become global hits, including in Japan.

Eligibility

• Individuals, groups, or corporations residing in Nigeria.
• Must be 18 years or older. (Applicants under 18 must attach a parent/guardian consent form).
• Completely original works that have not won awards in other contests and are unreleased.
• Agree to the Entry Rules and AI Usage Guidelines.

Game Contest Category

Targeted at game works. The development phase does not matter:

• Alpha version: e.g., Only one stage is complete.
• Beta version: e.g., All features are implemented but bugs remain.
• Master/Release version: Ready to be published.

Target Platforms: Mobile and PC (including browser-based games).

Prizes & Benefits (Total: 1,000,000 JPY)

• 1st Place: 500,000 JPY
• 2nd Place: 300,000 JPY
• 3rd Place: 200,000 JPY
• The leader of the grand prize winning team will be invited to Japan!
• Direct mentoring by famous Japanese game creators.

Timeline & Selection Process

• Submission Deadline: August 31, 2026
• User Voting: September 1 to September 10, 2026 (10 days). Game enthusiasts can vote based on gameplay videos.
• Final Judging: September 11 to September 29, 2026. The top 15 titles from user voting will be played and evaluated by Japanese creator judges and the organizer GigBeing.
• Results Announcement: September 30, 2026

Japan Creator Judge Special Award

Judges will present this special award if they recognize outstanding talent in a specific element of the game, even if the overall project is not fully polished.

Target Categories: Game Concept/Plan, Scenario/Story, Art/Illustration, Game Music, VR/AR.

Winners will receive:

• Online feedback from famous Japanese creators
• Written evaluation and advice
• Online classes and mentoring

Selection: Each judge will select one project to win the award from the top 100 user-voted works based on proposals, videos, and actual play.

Submission Requirements

1. Proposal (PDF format)

• Project Summary: Team members introduction, Title (tentative is OK), Genre, Target, Platform, Concept pitch (max 200 characters), Completion rate (%), Business/Monetization model.
• Content & Fun: Game loop/cycle, Story/World description (character intros), Sales points (unique mechanics).
• Visuals/Specs: Screenshots, Controls, System requirements, Engine/Middleware/Assets, AI tools/models/versions and their usage locations.

2. Gameplay Video

Submit an unlisted YouTube video URL (max 5 minutes).

3. Executable File (ZIP format)

Applicants must submit a standalone executable (.exe) working on Windows 11 and required folders in a single ZIP. Source code/project folder submissions will not be accepted.

AI Usage Policy

We respect creators' originality and technologies that expand creativity, while strictly protecting copyright. To ensure transparency and prevent infringement, we enforce our "AI Usage Guidelines". Applicants must disclose AI tools used and guarantee copyright compliance.
